Favourite Drugstore Skincare Items

 Hi Everyone!!!
So, this is my first post of 2015!!
I thought today, I would just start off with something simple. I am going to share two of my current favourite drug store items with you.
First, just a disclaimer:
* I am not being paid to promote these items. These are items that I genuinely bought with my own money and items that I genuinely think are good and worth going out to buy.
Any items that DO get sent to me for review in the future will be marked with an astrix (*) next to the name of the item in the title and whenever the item is mentioned in the post. *
Okay, so... I am currently a student at High School and I haven't got a job (although I'm desperately applying) and so any and all products I feature for the foreseeable future will be drugstore. I think this is a good thing though, as you're getting a real review from someone who is completely strapped for cash.
My reviews may be a little few and far between for a while as I don't have the money to be buying and reviewing products every other week. I do hope you enjoy these posts and let me know if there's any particular things you want me to do posts on. I am more than happy suggestions. If there's any, make up looks you want me to do, please let me know but now... on with the post.

Okay, so before recently I didn't have any type of skincare routine. I just splashed a bit of water on my face and that was it. It's only recently that I realised my make up looked awful and the reason was my skin. I bit the bullet, went down to Countdown and bought these two products (all I could afford to buy). Even though this is only two skincare products, they have made a massive difference to my skin and I can honestly say, they work.

The first item I bought was Dove Radiant Skin Face Cleanser and this is for normal skin types. This product has been dermatologically tested.
This product is 100ml and costs NZD$6.49 in Countdown. This is a great cleanser. It makes your face feel so fresh and clean and I noticed my skin was clearer and my pores were smaller within the first few days of using it. I stopped getting massive break outs and I had less red patches. It really works well and especially if you use this with warm water to open up your pores.

The second item I bought was Garnier Moisture Match moisturiser with green tea extract. This product is 50ml and costs NZD$10 at Countdown. Whilst I think this product is a little over priced compared with the Dove Radiant Skin Face Cleanser, it IS a great moisturiser. It smells really lovely and fresh and when you put it on your face, its like your skin is getting a big drink of water. This hydrated my skin so much and - working with the cleanser - helped to minimise the redness on my face, reduce the size of pores and minimise break outs.

I recommend both of these products highly if you are on a very tight budget or are just getting in to skin care and feel like you are in WAY over your head.
I hope you've enjoyed this first post and please let me know what you think.

Hello to you all!!

Hello to you all! I'm Lara. You may know me from my other blog, LaraluBooks.
First I would like to tell you the reason I created a second blog. When I first started blogging, I really didn't know what I was going to blog about. I just started writing random posts and they never had any structure to them or were related to anything particularly interesting.
However, as time went on and I got to the end of writing my first novel (due to be released next year), I realised that I really enjoyed reviewing books and so my blog went from being a load of miscellaneous posts to book reviews and - by extension - film reviews.
Although I love reviewing books and films and reading, I do miss blogging about beauty products and things that I have found work for me or little tips and tricks that are useful to know and being able to share them with the people that read my blog. Although I did want to keep reviewing and talking about beauty things, my blog had developed into a book reviewing blog and there was no place for those kinds of posts any more.
So... a solution? I decided to make a second blog that is all dedicated to beauty and life hacks that will hopefully interest and help you. Although I won't be able to post reviews on here as often as my main blog, I will try my best to do a couple of posts a month. If you like my writing style or you like book and film reviews, please do feel free to check out my main blog (http://www.laralubooks.blogspot.com) and discover what I'm loving in the book and film world and leave me comments, follow the blog, like it, share it etc., etc.
I hope you're all well and I look forward to going on this beauty blogging adventure with you all!!
